Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP and Laravel.
  • Build new backend features while improving existing systems.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with QA, Support, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain integrations with third-party services and internal APIs.
  • Develop automated tests for APIs and critical backend workflows.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing.
  • Monitor application performance, logs, and system health to identify issues proactively.
  • Participate in code reviews and help improve engineering best practices.
  • Document technical solutions, troubleshooting procedures, and internal processes.
  • Continuously improve development workflows, tooling, and engineering standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional PHP and Laravel development experience.
  • Strong experience building scalable backend applications.
  • Strong SQL knowledge, preferably PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience writing automated API tests.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub collaborative workflows.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and practices.
  • Experience working with Docker.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience using monitoring and logging tools such as Rollbar or CloudWatch, or similar.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience optimizing database performance (preferred).
  • Experience with healthcare or regulated industries (nice to have).
  • Experience working with telehealth platforms (nice to have).
  • Experience designing distributed backend architectures (nice to have).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (nice to have).
  • Experience improving development processes (nice to have).
  • Experience mentoring junior developers (nice to have).
  • Experience with performance tuning and scalability (nice to have).
  • Experience working in fully remote engineering teams (nice to have).
