Description

  • Lead natural resource evaluations and permitting efforts for large, complex projects.
  • Develop environmental and permitting strategies to support project delivery.
  • Coordinate fieldwork, reporting, and report writing.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff and support multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, invoicing, schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Prepare transportation NEPA documentation, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Interface with federal, state, and local agencies, including SHPO, USACE, USFWS, FRA, DOT, and FHWA, to secure reviews and guidance.
  • Organize public meetings and workshops and incorporate community input into projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and urban planners to integrate environmental considerations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, biology, ecology, soils, environmental science, environmental policy, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Established relationships with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
  • Focused experience in NEPA planning and compliance.
  • Experience with transportation projects and coordination with FRA.
  • Proficiency in interpreting site plans, topographic maps, aerial photographs, and other mapping resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead staff, and manage projects with a client-focused mindset.
  • Strong business acumen, work ethic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work well with a team.
