Description

  • Write maintainable and efficient code using proven patterns to solve complex problems.
  • Lead the design and development of highly scalable services for data-intensive use cases.
  • Evaluate and advocate for modern technologies that improve delivery speed and engineering efficiency.
  • Drive cross-team initiatives end to end, including code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, and security hygiene.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to support operational excellence.
  • Coach and mentor engineers to help scale the engineering organization.
  • Work with engineers across the company to build foundational infrastructure for event streaming, messaging, and analytics use cases.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of software development experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience working with Golang or Java is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and tuning highly scalable, event-driven systems.
  • Solid understanding of database fundamentals.
  • Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka.
  • Passion for building systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as TypeScript and React is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
  • Familiarity with or interest in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) domain is a plus.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $136,000–$187,000 CAD for candidates located in Canada.
