Description

  • Design, implement, and scale capital project budgeting and cost architecture across Oklo’s project portfolio.
  • Own the development and implementation of standardized cost breakdown structures, work breakdown structures, and capital cost taxonomies.
  • Establish cost standards, governance, and data traceability for budgets, commitments, change orders, actuals, and forecasts.
  • Develop and institutionalize a cost improvement framework to capture lessons learned and drive FOAK-to-NOAK cost reductions.
  • Build and maintain internal and external benchmarking to support portfolio cost optimization.
  • Define the methodology and governance frameworks for detailed project budgets.
  • Drive detailed project budgeting to ensure alignment with estimates, scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Strengthen owner-side cost control maturity and support vendor contracting strategy decisions such as time-and-materials versus firm price.
  • Partner with legal, supply chain, and deployment teams on cost structure maturity and contracting alignment.
  • Define and implement requirements and standards for integrating project financial planning, reporting, project management, and ERP systems.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in capital project budgeting, cost architecture, or project controls leadership in large-scale power, energy, infrastructure, industrial, or nuclear sectors.
  • Experience designing cost breakdown structures and capital cost taxonomies for large capital portfolios, including projects of $100M+.
  • Strong knowledge of project cost systems, job costing methodologies, ERP integration, and capital governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale EPC or construction projects with an understanding of owner-side cost control maturity.
  • Experience in portfolio cost optimization, benchmarking, and structured cost learning systems.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, construction, procurement, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive- and Board-level reporting.
  • Experience with nuclear or other FOAK energy infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOE, NRC, EPA, and OSHA environments is preferred.
  • Experience structuring cost systems to support IRA ITC eligibility and compliance tracking is preferred.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience is preferred.
