Description

  • Define the user experience for digital products by creating user journeys, interaction patterns, task flows, sketches, wireframes, and visual designs.
  • Translate vague or qualitative customer feedback into actionable design hypotheses and workflow improvements.
  • Proactively identify friction points in the product experience and bring forward design problems before they are assigned.
  • Use AI-powered prototyping tools such as Claude, Replit, and Figma Make to rapidly create interactive prototypes for feedback.
  • Translate AI-assisted prototypes into high-fidelity, developer-ready Figma designs with minimal ambiguity for engineers.
  • Ask focused questions of stakeholders and customers to surface the most relevant design inputs and prioritize effectively.
  • Partner with Product Management and UX Research to identify friction in mortgage lender workflows and drive design reviews.
  • Find innovative ways to solve problems while maintaining visual and brand consistency across products and platforms.
  • Build functional prototypes to validate and test design concepts.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of product design experience with a portfolio showing real ownership.
  • Strong Figma proficiency is required, including the ability to produce polished, component-consistent, developer-handoff-ready designs.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, Figma Make, Replit, or similar for rapid prototyping.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to identify problems, form a point of view, and drive solutions.
  • Ability to interpret ambiguous customer or stakeholder feedback and turn it into structured UX improvements.
  • Genuine curiosity about the product and users, with a habit of asking thoughtful questions and digging deeper than surface-level answers.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present design decisions, ask sharp questions, and build alignment.
  • Solid grounding in UX design and design thinking principles, with the ability to manage workflow and deadlines independently.
  • A portfolio demonstrating real problem-solving across digital product experiences.
  • Familiarity with mortgage lending workflows, underwriting processes, or fintech products is a plus.
  • Comfort with JIRA and Agile environments.
  • Experience in financial services or mortgage technology products is preferred.
  • Comfort working directly with engineering teams in sprint-based delivery environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to design systems creation or governance is a plus.
