Description

  • Serve as the primary contact for technicians resolving field issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex customer and automation problems.
  • Mentor and train coworkers to improve repair capability and field execution.
  • Manage onsite resources during repairs and deployments, including contractors and Ocado employees.
  • Participate in hardware and software repairs and updates, including oversight of third-party contractors.
  • Identify process improvements, develop documentation, and implement changes to field procedures.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and repair procedures.
  • Travel to customer and potential customer sites for pre-deployment evaluations, deployments, removals, and system updates.
  • Act as a resource for engineering, product, service, and sales teams as needed.
  • Work in physically demanding conditions, including tight or restricted spaces and ground-level repair tasks.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related industry, such as industrial automation.
  • Ability to independently perform complex repairs on mobile and industrial robotic systems.
  • Experience supervising and training coworkers.
  • Experience supporting new robot bring-up and installation supervision.
  • Familiarity with industrial robot arms and autonomous vehicles.
  • Familiarity with automation and industry safety standards.
  • Ability to write and implement preventative maintenance schedules and document deployment and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, diagnose electrical problems, and write detailed reports.
  • Experience working with WMS and WES architectures is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with Network and Software teams is a plus.
  • Comfortable using a Command Line Interface is a plus.
