Description

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technicians resolving field issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex automation and robotics problems.
  • Mentor and train coworkers on repair procedures and field support tasks.
  • Manage onsite resources during repairs and deployments, including contractors and Ocado employees.
  • Participate in hardware and software repairs, updates, and contractor oversight.
  • Develop process improvements, create documentation, and manage implementation of changes.
  • Update preventative maintenance schedules and repair procedures.
  • Support pre-deployment evaluations, deployment, removal, and relocation of hardware at customer sites.
  • Travel to customer sites and Ocado offices to support evaluations, updates, and project implementations.
  • Work in tight or restricted spaces and perform physically demanding ground-level service tasks.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related industry such as industrial automation.
  • Ability to independently perform complex repairs on mobile and industrial robotic systems.
  • Experience de-escalating customer requests and documenting field issues.
  • Experience supervising and training coworkers.
  • Experience assisting with new robot bring-up and supervising installations.
  • Familiarity with industrial robot arms and autonomous vehicles.
  • Familiarity with automation and industry safety standards.
  • Ability to write and implement preventative maintenance schedules and document deployment and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, diagnose electrical problems, and write detailed reports.
  • Preferred experience with WMS and WES architectures.
  • Preferred experience working with Network and Software teams on project deliveries.
  • Preferred ability to design and prototype electrical systems and maintain electrical schematics.
  • Preferred comfort using a Command Line Interface.
  • Preferred strong understanding of application and network stacks for troubleshooting.
