Description

  • Serve as the primary contact for technicians resolving field issues.
  • Use automation expertise to diagnose and resolve complex robotics problems.
  • Mentor and develop coworkers so they can perform repairs effectively.
  • Manage onsite repair and deployment resources, including contractors and Ocado employees.
  • Participate in hardware and software repairs and updates, including oversight of third-party contractors.
  • Identify, research, diagnose, and troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Develop process improvements, documentation, and implementation plans for operational changes.
  • Oversee updates to preventative maintenance schedules and repair procedures.
  • Perform pre-deployment evaluations and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Travel to customer sites to support deployments, removals, and hardware/software updates.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related industry such as industrial automation.
  • Ability to independently perform complex repairs on mobile and industrial robotic systems.
  • Experience supervising and training coworkers.
  • Experience assisting with new robot bring-up and supervising installations.
  • Familiarity with industrial robot arms and autonomous vehicles.
  • Familiarity with automation and industry safety standards.
  • Ability to write and implement robotics preventative maintenance schedules and document deployment and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, diagnose electrical problems, and write detailed reports.
  • Ability to de-escalate, communicate, and document customer requests.
  • Bonus qualifications include experience with WMS/WES architectures, working with network and software teams, electrical system design and prototyping, specifying automation-grade electrical equipment, maintaining electrical schematics, comfort with command line interfaces, and understanding application and network stacks.
