Description

  • Lead the design and development of GCP-native enterprise architectures across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS workloads.
  • Architect solutions using core GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Google SIEM.
  • Design and oversee Infrastructure as Code implementations with Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Architect secure cloud environments that meet FedRAMP High, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and DHS 4300A requirements.
  • Define networking architectures for VPCs, Shared VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Provide architectural leadership for containerized, serverless, and managed database solutions on GCP.
  • Lead cloud architecture reviews, technical design sessions, and stakeholder presentations for technical and executive audiences.
  • Establish cloud architecture frameworks, reusable patterns, and governance standards across the program.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps, data engineering, and application teams to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Evaluate emerging GCP services and advise leadership on adoption roadmaps and strategic cloud investments.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of cloud architecture experience, including 5+ years of deep, hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of GCP core services across compute, networking, storage, data, AI/ML, and security.
  • Terraform experience is required; Google Cloud Deployment Manager experience is a strong plus.
  • Deep understanding of GCP networking, including VPC design, Shared VPC, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Armor, and Cloud Load Balancing.
  • Strong experience designing containerized and Kubernetes-based workloads on GKE and Anthos.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP security services such as Cloud IAM, BeyondCorp, Security Command Center, and VPC Service Controls.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP High, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 compliance requirements in cloud environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline architecture and DevSecOps practices on GCP, including Cloud Build and Artifact Registry.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex architecture into actionable guidance for engineering teams and executives.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification is required.
  • Additional GCP specialty certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Professional Security Engineer are highly desirable.
  • TOGAF certification is preferred.
  • CCSP or CISSP is strongly desirable.
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Apigee API management is desired.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud AI/ML services such as Vertex AI and BigQuery ML is desired.
  • Multi-cloud architecture experience with AWS and Azure is desired.
  • Successful completion of a client-required background investigation and suitability determination is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance may be required.
