Description

  • Design and develop improvements to microservices that support in-app notification delivery at high scale.
  • Ensure services remain scalable, stable, secure, functional, and available for millions of users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate microservices across NordVPN’s product suite.
  • Mentor colleagues and provide technical guidance on development best practices.
  • Help shape the team’s vision and contribute to long-range technical goals.
  • Participate in research and development to explore and adopt new technologies.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and design teams across the company.
  • Take part in team discussions, challenge ideas constructively, and contribute to redesign efforts.

Requirements

  • Strong backend development experience, ideally with Go or PHP, and willingness to learn the other language.
  • Solid understanding of system design and when to apply different architectural patterns.
  • Experience with REST, MQTT, Kubernetes/K8s, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, VerneMQ, Docker, and microservice architecture is a significant advantage.
  • Passion for building APIs that are easy to use, well documented, secure, and simple to understand.
  • Experience working in a team environment with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to mentor others and contribute to technical decision-making.
  • Experience with Helm and ArgoCD is relevant to the tools used in this role.
  • Senior-level backend engineering experience is implied by the role level.
