Description

  • Exceed assigned quarterly and annual revenue and profit goals for the territory.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and end users to create and expand sales opportunities across assigned bases and new markets.
  • Manage and report a weekly pipeline of sales opportunities, quotes, and orders, and take ownership of the entire customer sales process.
  • Develop customer requirements and prepare bids, contract quotations, price estimates, warranties, and delivery terms for equipment and services.
  • Travel to client locations, attend symposiums, conferences, trade shows, vendor ride-alongs, and other events to cultivate and close sales opportunities.
  • Provide product recommendations and demonstrations, answer customer questions, and accurately process quotes received in writing, electronically, or by phone.
  • Learn and utilize internal CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite) to process quotes and orders and assist Inside Sales with data entry and funding identification.
  • Actively gather and communicate competitive and customer market intelligence, and collaborate with product teams on development, improvements, or modifications.
  • Perform administrative duties including preparing reports, maintaining sales records, filing expense reports, and maintaining an up-to-date Google calendar of client calls, travel, and pipeline activities.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative, preferably in government/DoD sales.
  • Established understanding of Government Sales and Federal Contracting processes.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense, military, federal agencies, and law enforcement customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of sales experience, or 5 years of industry experience instead of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance, if required.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to customer locations and events.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to negotiate skillfully, and ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with Salesforce and familiarity with NetSuite or another ERP system is a plus.
  • Proficient internet research skills and experience developing marketing/territory strategies and sales pipelines.
