Description

  • Own the end-to-end mod classification pipeline at scale, from data labelling through to production deployment.
  • Transform raw mod data into structured, high-quality metadata that improves search, filtering, and personalisation.
  • Continuously improve model performance and data quality across classification workflows.
  • Build recommendation models to help users discover relevant mods faster.
  • Improve search relevance using behavioural signals and other unique platform datasets.
  • Use dependency graphs and similar signals to strengthen personalisation and discovery experiences.
  • Ship models and systems that have a direct impact on downloads, retention, and user activity.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Data Scientist or ML Engineer with a track record of shipping models to production.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and the core ML ecosystem, including scikit-learn, PyTorch, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with NLP and text classification for unstructured descriptions and metadata.
  • Experience building recommendation systems or search relevance models.
  • Solid understanding of embeddings, similarity search, and operating them at scale.
  • Ability to scope and execute independently with strategic direction and high autonomy.
  • Pragmatic mindset focused on business impact, not just model accuracy.
  • Experience with LLMs for data labelling, seed set generation, or classification pipelines is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with dbt or analytics engineering workflows is a bonus.
  • Experience with A/B testing, causal inference, algorithmic design, optimisation, or reward modelling is a bonus.
  • Understanding of games modding or knowledge of Nexus Mods is a bonus.
  • A love of computer games is a bonus.
