Description

  • Develop and maintain server-side applications using PHP 8, Laravel 10, Node.js, Golang, and MySQL.
  • Build and optimize APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Implement front-end features in React 18.2 with TypeScript and Vite.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product work and improve team efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help the team become more autonomous and productive.
  • Manage integrations between internal systems and AWS cloud services.
  • Maintain documentation, database schemas, and security best practices.
  • Improve engineering workflows, processes, and codebase quality over time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer with a proven project track record.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP 8 and Laravel 9+.
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL and database design and optimization.
  • Experience with React.js 18.2 or another frontend framework.
  • Strong knowledge of Golang and a Golang framework such as Gin.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and Git.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or a similar cloud platform.
  • Experience with PHPUnit or a similar testing framework.
  • Good understanding of web application security.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong ownership mentality and ability to unblock yourself and move work forward.
  • Bias toward shipping and learning rather than waiting for perfect answers.
  • Experience writing production code in Laravel and React.
  • Comfort working across the stack rather than staying siloed.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and clear communication skills.
  • Willingness to document your work and improve processes.
  • Nice to have: experience with WebRTC, FFMPEG, HLS, SRT, RTMP, or DRM.
  • Nice to have: experience with Node.js/Express and GitHub Actions.
  • Nice to have: experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
  • Nice to have: experience in a multi-service or microservices-style architecture.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with AWS services such as ECS/ECR, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Redis, Amazon MQ, and Lambda.
  • Nice to have: experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially CloudFormation-style templates and environment parameterization.
  • Nice to have: experience improving GitHub Actions workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with automated testing and quality tooling such as Pest/PHPUnit, Vitest, Playwright, ESLint/Prettier, Pint, or Psalm.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and reliable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for something outside of work, or coding as a hobby.
