Description

  • Design and build the APIs and backend services supporting Newcode’s products.
  • Develop AI infrastructure for retrieval, orchestration, tool calling, response streaming, and output evaluation.
  • Maintain reliable asynchronous and distributed workflows for document ingestion, embeddings, and long-running Redis jobs.
  • Build and scale integrations with client systems, including email and document stores.
  • Ensure strong data security and tenant isolation for confidential client information.
  • Make early architectural decisions and support systems operating reliably at production scale.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience building production backend systems.
  • 6+ years of Python experience.
  • 3+ years of FastAPI experience.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL.
  • 2+ years of Redis experience.
  • Experience building LLM-powered systems, such as RAG, tool-calling, or agents, or strong interest in developing this experience.
  • Strong understanding of system failure modes, reliability, and production operations.
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot while maintaining code quality and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing startup environment.
  • Preferred: RAG or vector search, LangChain or LlamaIndex, SSE/WebSocket/SignalR streaming, or Microsoft Graph and email integrations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the applicable country without employer visa sponsorship.
