Description

  • Define and own the multi-year software roadmap for the Genetics portfolio, aligning it with clinical utility and revenue targets.
  • Act as executive sponsor for major pillar projects and ensure commercial expectations and quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead the digital product management team in translating clinical needs into technical requirements and prioritizing the backlog for patient and business impact.
  • Drive product integration strategy to deliver a frictionless ordering and reporting experience across provider portals, EMR systems, LIMS, lab workflow tracking, bioinformatics pipelines, and reporting systems.
  • Serve as a servant-leader partner to centralized engineering by providing clear requirements and priorities for execution.
  • Partner with the PMO and VP of Software Engineering to track milestones, mitigate risks, and protect launch dates.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Laboratory Operations to launch new assays with automation-first software that reduces manual burden.
  • Track and report portfolio KPIs such as product performance, user adoption, and delivery velocity.
  • Lead and mentor Product Solution Architects and Integration Engineers while fostering technical rigor and business empathy.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure software requirements and design controls are documented for audits and submissions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software product engineering or technology leadership.
  • Significant background in Clinical Genomics, Diagnostics, or Rare Disease.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-product portfolios and managing senior leaders at the Director or Senior Director level.
  • Deep understanding of software infrastructure such as LIMS, portals, and EMR systems supporting high-volume genetic testing.
  • Proven track record of managing high-stakes partnerships between business units and a centralized engineering organization.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management, including commercialization of new diagnostics and continuous improvement of on-market products, preferred.
  • Background in high-throughput Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) laboratory workflows, preferred.
  • Advanced degree such as a Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or Computer Science, preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely with periodic travel to San Carlos, CA and Austin, TX.
