Description

  • Analyze complex genomic datasets using scaled in-house pipelines and partner with wet-lab scientists and statisticians to support research goals.
  • Architect, build, and deploy automated analysis pipelines for diagnostic tests.
  • Integrate fusion detection, variant calling, and automated quality control metrics into production workflows.
  • Engineer new genomic analysis tools and identify optimization opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and ongoing workflow improvements.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure R&D tools scale effectively into production systems.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Deep understanding of high-throughput DNA sequence data analysis, including mapping, sequence alignment, and variant calling workflows.
  • Advanced understanding of data structures, algorithm design, and computational complexity.
  • Strong software engineering proficiency in Java or C++ in a professional production environment.
  • Demonstrated scripting ability in Python or Perl for data manipulation, automation, and rapid prototyping.
  • Deep expertise with Linux environments, command-line tools, and shell scripting.
  • Prior experience with relational databases, especially MySQL, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated technical autonomy and strong data discipline when troubleshooting complex algorithmic challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain computational results clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
