Description

  • Independently draft, review, and negotiate contracts with attorney oversight, with a focus on research collaboration, investigator-initiated trial, clinical study, material transfer, and data use agreements.
  • Perform legal review and approval of documents such as clinical study consent forms and study protocols.
  • Manage a heavy workflow by setting priorities with internal clients and meeting deliverable timelines.
  • Liaise with internal clients and respond to contract-related and other inquiries as assigned.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Legal Department playbook for contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to design, implement, and refine efficient contracting workflows, including template management, intake triage, document tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Complete required HIPAA/PHI privacy, compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire and maintain current training status.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in commercial research contracts and general corporate practice.
  • 3+ years of experience in a major law firm; in-house experience is a plus.
  • Experience advising clients in biotech, life sciences, and/or healthcare industries.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing commercial contracts, including complex arrangements, independently with attorney oversight.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and written skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with nimbleness and initiative.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to appropriately influence others.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
