Description

  • Design and build conversational AI agents for returns, claims, and customer service experiences.
  • Own agent systems end-to-end from architecture and implementation through evaluation and production operations.
  • Build RAG and context graph retrieval pipelines that ground responses in company and customer data.
  • Design agent orchestration for multi-step workflows that interact with identity, risk, order, and loyalty systems.
  • Create evaluation frameworks to measure task completion, accuracy, safety, and user satisfaction.
  • Implement guardrails and safety mechanisms such as content moderation, hallucination detection, and graceful fallbacks.
  • Integrate conversational experiences across web, mobile, SMS, and email channels.
  • Make decisions on prompt design, model selection, latency/cost/quality tradeoffs, and failure modes.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to build technically sound and product-aware systems.

Requirements

  • Production experience shipping conversational AI or agent-based systems used by real users.
  • Experience building production systems on top of LLM APIs and agent frameworks, including tool orchestration, context management, and reliability at scale.
  • A clear point of view on model selection tradeoffs, including frontier APIs versus open-weight models such as Qwen, Llama, and Mistral.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering techniques including structured outputs, few-shot learning, chain-of-thought, and tool calling.
  • Experience building context graph pipelines with entity resolution, relationship modeling, and dynamic context assembly from structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience designing agent architectures that use function calling, tool execution, or multi-step reasoning.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript.
  • Experience building and integrating APIs and backend services.
  • Comfort reasoning about evaluation, safety, and reliability in non-deterministic systems.
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively in ambiguity.
  • Startup or high-ownership environment experience is preferred.
  • Experience building and operating AI systems in production, including monitoring and incident response, is preferred.
  • Experience evaluating and iterating on LLM systems for accuracy, hallucination, latency, and cost is preferred.
  • Experience building or integrating MCP servers or similar tool-use infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience influencing technical direction through trust and judgment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows is preferred.
