Description

  • Lead the migration of monitoring, alerting, and dashboards from New Relic and Datadog to Grafana.
  • Design and implement metrics, logs, traces, and supporting Terraform infrastructure.
  • Audit existing dashboards, alerts, and integrations to ensure coverage parity in Grafana.
  • Modify application code to add or adapt metrics, logging, and tracing instrumentation.
  • Deploy and operate observability tooling on AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Configure AWS networking and access, including VPCs, security groups, and IAM.
  • Contribute to GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Coordinate the migration and cutover across development, platform, and infrastructure teams.
  • Identify and remediate security issues involving secrets, keys, and dependencies.
  • Document observability architecture, migration procedures, and dashboard and alert mappings.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on Grafana experience, including dashboards, alerting, and data source configuration.
  • Experience migrating from New Relic, Datadog, or similar commercial observability platforms.
  • Full-stack development experience with application instrumentation across frontend and backend services.
  • Production AWS experience, including EKS and Kubernetes.
  • Practical Docker and containerization experience.
  • Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code skills.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tools.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-cutting work across multiple teams, services, and codebases.
  • Fluency with Codex or comparable AI-assisted coding tools.
  • Experience with the Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo ecosystem, Grafana certifications or contributions, AWS certification, RDS or other AWS data services, and contract or consulting work are preferred.
  • At least Upper-Intermediate English proficiency.
