Description

  • Lead architecture, development, modernization, and continuous improvement of the multi-country Snowflake and GCP data platform.
  • Build and maintain ingestion and streaming pipelines from Cloud SQL through Datastream CDC and Cloud Storage into Snowflake using Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks.
  • Develop standardized Star Schema and Medallion Architecture data models and semantic layers with dbt.
  • Manage Snowflake database objects, deployments, and version control through DCM Projects and GitHub CI/CD.
  • Define and enforce data governance, RBAC, dynamic masking, row-level security, and PII compliance across eight jurisdictions.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance and costs through warehouse sizing, clustering, query tuning, caching, auto-suspend, and resource monitors.
  • Translate business objectives into reliable data solutions for Product, Risk, BI, and executive stakeholders.
  • Mentor data engineers and promote testing, code reviews, automation, and software engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of production Snowflake experience, or 5+ years in cloud data warehousing including at least 1 year with Snowflake.
  • Advanced Snowflake knowledge, including virtual warehouses, micro-partitioning, Streams and Tasks, Snowpipe, Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, and Snowpark.
  • Practical GCP experience with Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Datastream CDC; AWS experience may also be relevant.
  • Experience with dbt Core or Cloud, Snowflake DCM Projects, Git, and data-as-code deployments.
  • Expert SQL skills and strong Python proficiency for automation, processing, and integrations.
  • Experience designing multi-tenant or multi-country security architectures with PII masking, RBAC, and regulatory compliance.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and strong written and spoken English.
  • Strong technical communication, negotiation, documentation, and stakeholder leadership skills.
  • SnowPro certification, fintech or LATAM regulatory experience, and Power BI, Looker, or Tableau integration experience are preferred.
