Description

  • Own end-to-end systems design for the MyFitnessPal product data stack.
  • Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap for the product data stack.
  • Coordinate contributions across Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product Analytics, and backend engineering.
  • Define and enforce data movement and standardization practices across the stack.
  • Lead architecture reviews, vendor evaluations, tool consolidation, and proof-of-value assessments.
  • Develop compliance architecture for user data, including PII tagging and deletion/DSR policies.
  • Administer access and licensing while maintaining visibility into data-stack spend.
  • Document and communicate architecture decisions, standards, and ownership models across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in systems design, architecture, or engineering, including 3–5 years designing end-to-end data platform architecture at architect or staff level.
  • Experience integrating modern customer data stacks covering product analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing activation tools such as Amplitude, Eppo, Harness, AppsFlyer, or Braze.
  • Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and role-based access design.
  • Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations.
  • Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including PII handling and deletion/DSR workflows.
  • Experience defining organization-wide architecture standards and enforcing them through automation.
  • Cost-conscious approach to infrastructure and vendor spend, balancing performance and reliability.
  • Ability to drive architecture decisions across teams and organizations.
  • Experience with semantic and metrics layers using dbt or similar tools, data cataloging, metadata stewardship, or experimentation governance preferred.
  • Advanced SQL and experience with consumer subscription apps or governed AI-ready data preferred.
