Description

  • Define and maintain data architecture guidelines across ingestion, transformation, storage, consumption, and governance.
  • Provide independent judgment in design reviews and architecture decisions across the client’s data ecosystem.
  • Manage technical debt and maintain high standards for data testing, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating needs into solutions and decisions into executive language.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and shape them into technical-commercial proposals.
  • Guide multiple data engineering teams building modern data products on AWS.
  • Support architecture decisions for a major banking data modernization initiative.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Senior Data Engineer or Data Architect with hands-on experience leading technical teams in production environments.
  • Expert command of dbt, Airflow (MWAA), Redshift, S3, and advanced SQL.
  • Experience working within highly complex enterprise or corporate organizations.
  • Ability to design architectures and propose solutions from scratch, not only execute pre-defined plans.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills across all organizational levels, from engineers to the board of directors.
  • Experience with DataOps and CI/CD for data, including GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Docker (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with lakehouse architectures, legacy-to-cloud migrations, and Data Mesh / distributed data ownership (nice to have).
  • Experience with governance and cataloging tools such as OpenMetadata, DataHub, or Atlan (nice to have).
  • Exposure to AI agents and AI-assisted development tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, LiteLLM, and RAG (nice to have).
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, or equivalent (nice to have).
