Description

  • Lead and execute data science projects, including predictive modeling, algorithm design, and data pipeline development.
  • Develop campaign data science models, including partisanship and turnout models.
  • Explore large datasets to generate insights that inform product development and feature prioritization.
  • Transform data into clear, actionable insights through analysis, visualization, memos, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering to move data science products and concepts into production.
  • Mentor and support junior data scientists through formal and informal guidance.
  • Apply emerging AI technologies to research and development challenges.
  • Prototype novel approaches, evaluate feasibility, and bridge advanced capabilities with practical implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with product and research teams on shared initiatives.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in an equivalent role producing models and analytics for business applications.
  • Deep understanding of advanced data science techniques, machine learning algorithms, and optimization methods.
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in data engineering and data pipelines.
  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, plus version control with Git.
  • Ability to learn and apply new data science tools and techniques efficiently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and strategic communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members in their technical growth.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Domain expertise in organizing and advocacy is preferred.
  • Experience working with voter file data and campaign data science is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dbt and Dagster is preferred.
  • Experience with polling methodologies, survey analysis, and multilevel regression and poststratification (MRP) modeling is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
