Description

  • Partner with Mission Architecture on early mission studies, concept development, trade studies, and proposal baselines.
  • Develop and maintain mission-level models, requirements, interfaces, and behavior as the authoritative technical baseline.
  • Lead mission conceptualization, design, development, and critical cross-functional technical decisions.
  • Tailor and implement the mission design process for the assigned mission and help improve it across Muon.
  • Translate customer objectives and stakeholder needs into verifiable technical requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage requirements traceability, verification, and validation.
  • Define mission CONOPS and manage subsystem budgets such as power, data, mass, and pointing/stability.
  • Identify, mitigate, and communicate mission risks and coordinate design changes across disciplines.
  • Lead design, test readiness, and flight readiness reviews, and monitor on-orbit spacecraft and data pipelines.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in an engineering field.
  • 10+ years of experience in complex system, mission architecture, and/or spacecraft design.
  • Experience leading at least one complex system design as a Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, or similar.
  • Experience with major space programs for USG, DoD, IC, or demanding commercial customers.
  • Experience with USG/IC acquisition programs, space systems development standards, and mission assurance standards.
  • Strong understanding of USG/IC contracts and related artifacts.
  • Experience supporting proposal development such as RFI/RFP responses for government contracts.
  • Extensive experience in system modeling, systems analysis, and simulations.
  • Proven history of system integration and delivery of complex systems.
  • Experience in formal requirements management for a multi-disciplinary project.
  • Demonstrated project management, communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to rapidly shift roles and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with RF systems, Cameo Systems Modeler or another SysML MBSE tool, Python or Julia, software version control and code review, electrical/software quality practices, or remote sensing instruments across optical, multispectral, or RF modalities (preferred).
  • Ability to access export-controlled information and meet ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements.
