Description

  • Own the integrated master schedule, budget, and risk register for the EO/IR instrument payload.
  • Drive risk mitigation, change control, and milestone execution to support flight delivery.
  • Partner with the Instrument Systems Engineer to turn technical architectures, error budgets, and ICDs into executable plans.
  • Prepare, run, and document instrument-level design reviews, including PDR and CDR.
  • Serve as the primary programmatic interface with Mission TPM and Spacecraft TPM to align integration, schedules, and requirement verification.
  • Coordinate internal instrument resources and matrixed hardware engineering teams to support staffing and AIT throughput.
  • Work with Supply Chain to manage external vendors and critical component suppliers.
  • Identify bottlenecks early and lead root cause analysis efforts for hardware anomalies.
  • Track corrective actions to closure while protecting the critical path.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with 3+ years, M.S. with 6+ years, or B.S. with 8+ years of experience in imaging systems or infrared remote sensing instruments.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a technical program management or engineering leadership role.
  • Direct technical experience with LEO EO/IR remote sensing instruments.
  • Working knowledge of sensor architectures, focal plane arrays (FPAs), and integrated dewar cooler assemblies (IDCAs).
  • Expert-level proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
  • Demonstrated ability to build logic-linked schedules and perform critical path analyses.
  • Familiarity with structured root cause analysis in a high-performance hardware environment.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance strongly preferred.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management credentials preferred.
  • Hands-on familiarity with precision optical assembly, alignment, cleanroom operations, and space environmental testing (TVAC, random vibration) preferred.
  • Experience with scripting or database languages such as Python, Julia, or SQL preferred.
  • Must meet ITAR/EAR export control eligibility requirements and be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for export authorization.
