Description

  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure with development teams.
  • Build and maintain automated deployment and testing pipelines.
  • Develop monitoring and alerting systems to identify issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate production incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Improve infrastructure, processes, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Own on-call rotations to provide 24/7 application support.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Contribute to security posture and industry-standard compliance efforts.
  • Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share site reliability knowledge.
  • Identify organizational improvements and propose optimized team structures and execution approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in high-traffic, high-availability environments.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Go.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and technologies including AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and core computer science fundamentals.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Database and query optimization experience (preferred).
  • Senior-level or leadership experience in site reliability engineering (preferred).
  • Experience with backend technologies, technical decision-making, or organizational change (preferred).
