Description

  • Own product vision, roadmap, prioritization, and long-term direction for Mozilla Common Voice.
  • Deliver the 2026 maintenance+ roadmap with a focus on stability, reliability, security, and technical debt reduction.
  • Define and track success metrics aligned to 2026 goals and Tech Platforms objectives.
  • Lead development of the 2027+ product roadmap, including growth scenarios, resourcing implications, and strategic tradeoffs.
  • Represent Common Voice in funding proposals and partnership discussions.
  • Take on interim community manager responsibilities during the team re-scope and transition period.
  • Ensure continuity, trust, and responsiveness for the Common Voice community.
  • Oversee community communications, contributor engagement, and language onboarding processes.
  • Provide direct people management and delivery leadership for engineering staff and contractors.
  • Set goals, priorities, and expectations for engineering contributors and coordinate across engineering, data, privacy, and infrastructure partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressively senior product management experience, ideally within a small, agile team.
  • Strong product judgment and experience setting direction, prioritizing work, and managing tradeoffs in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of linguistics or languages; multilinguality is a plus.
  • Basic grounding in computational linguistics or NLP.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with a global, distributed team and community.
  • Proven ability to triage and respond to many inbound signals and needs.
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem-solving mindset in a small-team environment.
  • Strong affinity for research and metrics, including experience delivering user research plans and working with communities, users, and collaborators.
  • Experience working closely with linguists, language activists, software engineers, data scientists, and designers.
  • Experience in machine-learning-driven projects or academic training in ML/AI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of voice or speech AI is a plus.
