Description

  • Lead a geographically distributed team of engineers working on Firefox Desktop user experience improvements.
  • Drive initiatives that deliver high-quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable software.
  • Balance rapid delivery with long-term product and engineering trade-offs across browser user experiences.
  • Communicate team goals, project scope, risks, and delivery timelines.
  • Build and iterate on engineering processes that support a high-performing team.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings focused on technical work, growth, and performance feedback.
  • Support and empower developers throughout the developer lifecycle.
  • Create an inclusive team environment that engages and challenges team members.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science.
  • Influence technical decisions and help prioritize, triage, and implement work across multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience leading engineers in a software development environment.
  • Experience working across multiple distributed teams.
  • Software engineering background with the ability to drive technical decisions.
  • Experience leading multiple concurrent projects.
  • Previous experience with frontend platform initiatives such as design systems and frontend architectural improvements.
  • Track record of delivering front-end experiences for user-facing products.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Proven ability to ship sophisticated user-facing experiences on time using data to inform timelines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across all levels and roles.
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities.
  • Ability to hire, mentor, empower, develop, and delegate to geographically distributed team members.
