Description

  • Lead the development and implementation of solutions spanning perception components and downstream autonomy modules.
  • Analyze perception subsystem performance to identify system-level limitations and potential hazards.
  • Document hazards and lead cross-functional efforts to mitigate or eliminate them.
  • Collaborate on solutions for long-tail perception challenges such as synthetic data generation, advanced data mining, and language embeddings.
  • Optimize and deploy models to onboard vehicle hardware while meeting functional and interface requirements.
  • Interface with systems, safety, test, and data teams to define requirements, test coverage, and performance metrics.
  • Design, implement, and validate end-to-end solutions with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Apply engineering rigor to evaluation and performance analysis for safety-critical autonomous driving applications.

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong leadership experience executing large, complex technical initiatives.
  • Track record of successful interdisciplinary work and product-focused engineering.
  • Broad understanding of deep learning algorithms, architectures, and applications.
  • Experience designing, training, and analyzing neural networks for perception-related applications.
  • Fluency in Python and common deep learning, scientific computing, and data analysis/visualization libraries, including PyTorch.
  • Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience mentoring and leading others.
  • Preferred: experience shipping a real product while balancing ongoing support with next-generation innovation.
  • Preferred: experience developing safety-critical products or components.
  • Preferred: publications in relevant conferences such as CVPR, ICML, or NeurIPS.
  • Preferred: strong programming skills in C++ and/or CUDA.
  • Preferred: experience with TensorRT and model quantization.

  • Base salary range of $200,000 to $285,000 USD.
