Description

Develop motion control and trajectory optimization algorithms to enable safe and comfortable vehicle motion.
Design and build robust, scalable software that supports on-road evaluation of control techniques and motion planning algorithms.
Write high-quality C++ code and participate in design reviews based on a deep understanding of the team’s services and technologies.
Use testing, simulation, and continuous integration toolchains to support rapid development cycles.
Collaborate with teams working on decision and behavior planning, prediction, and vehicle control to build integrated solutions.
Explain trade-offs and complex technical concepts to peers and leaders to support decision-making.
Create project proposals that inform long-term technical roadmaps across multiple sub-systems.
Mentor junior team members and help foster a product-focused engineering and research culture.

Requirements

3+ years of C++ software development experience.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree preferred in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with Model Predictive Control (MPC), motion planning, planning under uncertainty, vehicle dynamics and control, and simulation environments.
Understanding of numerical optimization algorithms such as interior point methods and sequential quadratic programming.
Experience with optimization solvers such as IPOPT and Gurobi.
Past experience owning and leading technical development of features from problem formulation through algorithm design and implementation.
Knowledge of Python is a bonus.
Experience evaluating control techniques and motion planning algorithms is preferred.
Experience using modern development toolchains, including testing, simulation, and continuous integration, is preferred.

Benefits

Salary range of $172,000 to $229,000 USD.
Additional compensation may include a bonus and company equity.
