Description

  • Develop and integrate trajectory optimization algorithms into the motion-planning architecture.
  • Design and build scalable software for evaluating motion-planning and vehicle-control techniques.
  • Conduct research and implement performance-critical algorithms for production autonomous vehicles.
  • Perform high-quality C++ code and design reviews.
  • Use testing, simulation, and continuous-integration toolchains to support rapid development.
  • Collaborate with decision and behavior planning, prediction, and vehicle-control teams.
  • Explain technical concepts and trade-offs to peers and leaders to drive decisions.
  • Create project proposals that shape long-term technical roadmaps across multiple subsystems.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote product-focused engineering and research.

Requirements

  • 0–3+ years of C++ software-development experience, including educational projects, internships, or PhD research.
  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree preferred in robotics, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Model Predictive Control, motion planning, planning under uncertainty, vehicle dynamics and control, and simulation environments.
  • Understanding of numerical optimization methods such as interior-point methods and sequential quadratic programming.
  • Experience with optimization solvers such as IPOPT or Gurobi.
  • Experience owning technical development from problem formulation and algorithm design through implementation.
  • Knowledge of Python preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
