Description

  • Shape and lead data strategy for a major business domain or collective.
  • Identify, frame, and lead ambiguous, strategically important problems involving cross-team dependencies and significant trade-offs.
  • Partner with senior leaders across product, engineering, ML, design, research, risk, and operations to influence strategy and outcomes.
  • Develop measurement strategies and metric maps connecting customer behavior, product changes, and business results.
  • Set best practices for experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, optimization, and decision science.
  • Conduct hands-on data exploration, analysis, experimentation, modeling, prototyping, and technical problem-solving.
  • Own critical data products and initiatives end to end, ensuring governance, documentation, robustness, and adoption.
  • Balance delivery speed with analytical rigor, reproducibility, interpretability, and quality.
  • Raise Data Science standards through technical direction, reviews, reusable methods, and constructive challenge.
  • Coach and mentor data scientists and analytics engineers to build sustainable organizational capability.

Requirements

  • Exceptional track record leading complex, business-critical Data Science work from ambiguous problem definition to measurable outcomes.
  • Experience shaping strategy across a large product or business domain and influencing senior leaders with independent judgment.
  • Deep expertise across multiple Data Science disciplines, including work involving complexity, uncertainty, or risk.
  • Ability to resolve cross-organizational dependencies and turn long-term strategy into decisive action.
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining complex ideas, assumptions, and risks clearly.
  • High standards for analytical quality, governance, and reproducibility.
  • Highly credible hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience raising standards and multiplying the impact of experienced Data Science colleagues.
  • Willingness to complete recruiter, initial, technical assessment, case study, collaboration, and technical interview stages.
