Description

  • Lead across multiple teams as a manager of managers in an org of around 20-30 people.
  • Grow and build new squads as the organization expands.
  • Manage and develop Tech Leads, Senior Engineers, and 2-3 Engineering Managers.
  • Own technical and delivery outcomes for your area.
  • Support, challenge, and structure teams to deliver on their mission.
  • Partner with Technical Leads and Product Managers to drive execution and delivery.
  • Foster an inclusive environment and maintain high standards for engineering excellence.
  • Coach, support, and develop managers and engineers through regular 1:1s and continuous feedback.
  • Work with senior engineers to drive technical initiatives and improve engineering practices.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to company-wide management and technical standards.

Requirements

  • Experience as a software engineer in previous roles.
  • Strong technical and delivery background.
  • Experience directly managing at least 2-3 Engineering Managers.
  • Experience leading orgs of around 20 engineers.
  • Ability to support, coach, and develop people through regular 1:1s and continuous feedback.
  • Experience collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers.
  • Ability to hold a high bar for engineering excellence and clearly articulate expectations.
  • Experience building strong stakeholder relationships across teams.
  • No hands-on coding required for this role, but prior engineering experience is expected.
  • Experience in technical leadership and people leadership is preferred.
  • Ability to work in London, remotely within the UK, or with ad hoc meetings in London.
  • Willingness to participate in a multi-stage interview process over approximately 3-4 weeks.

  • £130,000 - £165,000 base salary plus equity and benefits.
  • Relocation support to the UK is available.
  • Visa sponsorship is available.
  • Flexible working hours with trust-based scheduling.
  • Remote or distributed working within the UK with ad hoc meetings in London.
  • Learning budget of £1,000 per year for books, training courses, and conferences.
  • Office support for travel costs if you live outside London and are asked to come in.
  • Twice-weekly Monzo lunches and treat Thursdays, plus a social office environment.
