Description

Run and maintain Kubernetes clusters, service mesh, and networking for Monzo’s microservices.
Build and centrally manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP.
Enhance foundational platform tools, systems, and shared infrastructure.
Develop backend services such as APIs and controllers that simplify infrastructure use for other engineers.
Automate infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code and related tooling.
Support infrastructure migrations, high-scale traffic management, and security tooling projects.
Integrate and manage open-source components to provide scalable platform primitives.
Collaborate with other platform teams to reduce complexity and improve developer experience.

Requirements

Experience writing, testing, and deploying robust backend services.
Experience working with AWS and/or GCP.
Experience with Kubernetes.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
Strong interest in software engineering and modern platform tooling.
Curiosity about distributed systems, failure modes, and scaling behavior.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
Direct experience with Go, Envoy, and the listed technologies is not required.
Interview process can be completed in any language.
Open to L30 and L40 Platform Engineer levels.

£65,000 - £80,000 base salary.
