Description

  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure and tools for machine learning platforms.
  • Support teams in training, evaluating, deploying, and serving machine learning models and features at scale.
  • Work with ML teams to identify their needs and turn them into simple platform solutions.
  • Build and maintain shared infrastructure, services, and engineering tooling across the Platform Collective.
  • Develop backend services that manage parts of the platform.
  • Help operate the platform across cloud environments and Kubernetes.
  • Investigate issues and solve problems through automation and deep system analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineers across Monzo to improve platform reliability and usability.

Requirements

  • Experience working with AWS and/or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience building machine learning pipelines and the platforms that support them.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Some experience with strongly typed languages and backend software development.
  • Comfort working in a team that deals with ambiguity.
  • Curiosity about systems and willingness to dive deep to investigate issues.
  • An interest in building a platform that enables success across the company.
  • Experience with Go, Python, Terraform, Envoy Proxy, or cloud-native tooling is helpful, though direct experience is not required.
  • The role is being hired at L40 Engineer level, with interview coverage across the full engineering progression framework.
