Description

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of accountability regimes including SMCR and IAF/SEAR.
  • Run business-as-usual activities for fit and proper assessments, certification, accountability processes, governance documentation and regulatory reporting.
  • Coordinate team priorities and keep operational delivery on track.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on accountability and people governance for internal stakeholders.
  • Build and evolve the people governance framework, including people-related risk, controls, decision-making and organisational change.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to processes, controls and tooling to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Partner with People, Legal, Compliance, Risk & Controls, Company Secretariat, the Board and other business teams to land decisions.
  • Support audit, assurance and regulatory engagement with evidence, papers, reporting and process management.
  • Use data and insight to identify themes, spot risks and prioritize improvements.
  • Work with the People Governance & Accountability Lead on higher-risk issues and strategic changes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in a regulated environment, ideally in governance, compliance, risk or legal.
  • Hands-on experience with SMCR in a UK dual-regulated FCA/PRA firm.
  • Familiarity with IAF/SEAR or other accountability regimes.
  • Experience translating regulatory or policy requirements into clear processes, training and guidance.
  • Experience planning and leading projects end to end.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience bringing together diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including governance papers and senior-level discussions.
  • Comfort building relationships with senior stakeholders and presenting to senior forums.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Confidence using data and judgement to make pragmatic recommendations.
  • Experience improving ways of working and building more effective, reliable processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment balancing control, pace and practicality.
