Description

  • Develop and execute the enterprise data governance roadmap aligned with Moniepoint’s business strategy.
  • Author and maintain data governance policies and standards covering privacy, retention, and naming conventions.
  • Define the operating model and clarify data ownership across business domains.
  • Lead and coordinate a virtual team of business unit Data Stewards across the organization.
  • Create and run a Data Governance Academy to onboard, certify, and mentor stewards.
  • Set data quality goals and KPIs for business units and define what good governance looks like.
  • Select, manage, and optimize governance platforms such as Atlan, Collibra, or Microsoft Purview.
  • Configure governance tools to connect business terms to technical assets and support data lineage.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to automate data quality checks and PII masking in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build executive data health dashboards and lead change management to position data as a strategic business asset.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of leadership experience in Data Governance, Data Engineering, or Data Strategy in a high-growth environment.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills, with the ability to audit data platforms directly and work with APIs for automation.
  • Deep knowledge of modern data architectures, including Data Mesh and Data Vault 2.0.
  • Strong understanding of NDPR, GDPR, and fintech-specific data regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with governance platforms such as Atlan, Collibra, or Microsoft Purview (preferred).
  • Experience building governance within automated workflows and CI/CD environments (preferred).
  • Ability to lead and influence teams that do not report directly to you (preferred).
