Description

  • Collaborate on the development and maintenance of data definitions and abstraction procedures.
  • Accurately identify and abstract pathology, treatment, and other clinical data from medical records.
  • Maintain the REDCap database for assigned disease area(s).
  • Perform quality reviews of work completed by other data abstractors.
  • Review data quality dashboards and make corrections as needed.
  • Address data quality questions from a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, bioinformaticians, and clinical scientists.
  • Manage process documentation and support quality control efforts.
  • Translate healthcare and clinical concepts for data engineering work.
  • Coordinate with clinicians to clarify abstraction procedures and clinical concepts.
  • Support automated abstraction activities for the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years of data abstraction experience, including knowledge of basic medical terminology and use of electronic medical records.
  • Medical data abstraction or chart review experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions.
  • High curiosity, initiative, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly growing startup environment.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and independently.
  • Solution-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Commitment to regulatory compliance and confidentiality.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or research setting with oncology or blood cancers is preferred.
  • Prior experience with analysis of datasets, biostatistics, or SQL is preferred.
  • Familiarity with research data capture systems such as REDCap or other EDC platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude and Gemini is preferred.

Benefits

  • Target salary range of $83,500 to $130,000 annually.
  • Base pay may vary based on education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
