Description

  • Lead high-impact analytics initiatives from problem framing through delivery, including quantifying value and communicating recommendations to business partners and executives.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify analytics opportunities and deliver actionable insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to partners and executive leadership in clear, compelling formats.
  • Develop analytics products and solutions using Databricks, modern business and AI tools, and Agile principles.
  • Implement advanced analytics using Python for automation, advanced analysis, and integration with Databricks workflows.
  • Architect and publish trusted Power BI datasets and dashboards, including DAX, Power Query, and semantic models.
  • Build performant Databricks workflows, including notebooks, jobs, and SQL Warehouses, to process large datasets and automate recurring analyses.
  • Partner with Data Engineering on Azure data stack components such as Data Factory, ADLS, and Synapse/Fabric pipelines.
  • Own analysis quality through data validation, experiment/study design, sensitivity checks, reproducibility, versioning, and documentation.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, create executive scorecards and operational reporting, mentor analysts and BI developers, and support data governance and adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in analytics roles, including 3+ years leading projects.
  • Proven experience delivering analytics in complex, multi-source, ambiguous environments with measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience working in healthcare data environments, or the demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to healthcare contexts.
  • Strong statistical and financial analytics expertise, including study design, analysis techniques, and business case development.
  • Deep experience with the Azure data stack, including Data Factory, ADLS, and Synapse/Fabric pipelines, plus familiarity with security and governance features.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, including Spark/SQL, notebooks, jobs, performance tuning, and SQL Warehouses.
  • Strong SQL proficiency (ANSI/T-SQL) with query optimization over large, partitioned tables.
  • Applied analytics experience with R, including tidyverse/ggplot2, reproducible workflows, statistical testing, and modeling fundamentals.
  • Python experience for data wrangling, automation, and integration with Databricks and Azure services.
  • Experience with Fabric and Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), calculation groups, row-level security, and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with Git-based versioning workflows, disciplined documentation, peer review, executive storytelling, and stakeholder partnership.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound trade-offs, uphold high quality standards, and lead projects with undefined or complex scope.
  • Agile delivery experience and demonstrated mentorship or coaching of analysts and BI developers.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Certifications in Databricks, Power BI, or cloud platforms, with Azure preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience with machine learning frameworks and MLOps practices.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data governance tools and compliance standards.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of advanced BI features such as Power BI Copilot and AI-driven analytics.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare risk adjustment models such as HCC and CDPS.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with claims groupers such as Milliman’s HCG.
  • Preferred: Product management training or analytics product delivery experience.
  • Remote hires must travel to headquarters in Ankeny, IA on their first day for orientation.
