Description

  • Own the end-to-end product experience, including information architecture, core flows, onboarding, dashboards, data visualization, states, and mobile.
  • Audit the existing product, identify usability issues, and prioritize UX improvements.
  • Redesign onboarding and first-run experiences to improve time-to-value and activation.
  • Design intuitive charts, tables, comparisons, defaults, and explanatory data experiences.
  • Create interaction patterns for conversational and agentic AI features, including reasoning, uncertainty, and trust signals.
  • Build and maintain a design system with reusable components, tokens, and patterns.
  • Lead user research with customers, agency operators, and the internal AI Residency team.
  • Own Modern’s marketing website, product marketing assets, and visual brand identity.
  • Prototype, ship, and measure design improvements in collaboration with engineering and leadership.
  • Advocate for design investment using activation, retention, and revenue outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing SaaS products with shipped work to demonstrate.
  • Experience making complex, data-dense software approachable, such as analytics, BI, fintech, developer tools, or operations platforms.
  • Strong data visualization expertise and informed opinions about chart and dashboard design.
  • Knowledge of current AI product design patterns and hands-on use of AI tools in the design process.
  • Ability to operate as a solo or first design function, owning research, design, delivery, and measurement.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build business cases for design priorities.
  • Ability to prototype using Figma, code, or AI-assisted tools.
  • Front-end development experience with React and Tailwind preferred.
  • Experience with e-commerce, DTC, marketing analytics, or attribution preferred.
  • Experience as a first design hire, designing conversational or agentic interfaces, or working across product and brand preferred.
