Description

Analyze security vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications, assess risk, and drive remediation with engineering teams.
Research emerging product threats and mitigation techniques relevant to the health tech landscape.
Partner with Engineering and Product to integrate security throughout the SDLC and champion secure development practices.
Develop cost-effective solutions for complex application and product security challenges.
Implement product security standards and best practices across the organization and influence engineering and architecture decisions.
Test, audit, and assess the security posture of application and cloud infrastructure configurations.
Guide engineering teams on secure coding standards and provide actionable feedback and resources.
Deploy, optimize, and manage security tooling such as SAST, DAST, Hashicorp Vault, and other application security solutions.
Participate in threat modeling for new features and services to identify and reduce risk proactively.
Conduct secure code reviews and help plan and execute targeted penetration tests before production release.
Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams on security controls, cloud security, endpoint protection, access management, and secure deployment operations.

Requirements

2-4 years of experience in product/application security or 1-3 years in security-focused software engineering.
Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, secure code review, threat modeling, and industry-standard application security tools.
Hands-on experience with at least one scripting language, preferably Python and/or Bash.
Experience integrating security into agile product delivery.
Familiarity with secure software development practices, security-focused architecture, and supporting infrastructure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to assess, prioritize, and execute projects independently.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
AWS experience is strongly preferred, and candidates without direct security experience but with software engineering or development backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Bonus points for experience at a high-growth startup, working on SaaS software, working in Health Tech, or having software engineering experience.
