Description

  • Independently manage routine employee relations matters and escalate higher-risk policy or legal issues to People & Culture Leadership.
  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and well-documented employee relations reviews and investigations.
  • Prepare clear documentation on findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions for employee relations matters.
  • Support managers in addressing performance concerns and workplace issues in a fair, consistent, and compliant manner.
  • Administer leave of absence and accommodation matters, including ADA, FMLA, state and local leave laws, and religious accommodations.
  • Coordinate the interactive process for leave and accommodation requests with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support compliance efforts across multiple jurisdictions through research, process updates, handbook administration, and state-specific implementation.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation for employee relations, leave, accommodations, and compliance.
  • Identify trends from data, documentation, and observations to recommend process improvements and support employee experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with People & Culture Leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve issues in compliance with applicable laws and firm policies.

Requirements

  • Reliable remote work setup, including high-speed internet and a functional workstation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with at least 6 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, leave administration, compliance, or a closely related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Humanities, or a related field preferred, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in employee relations, human resources, leave administration, compliance, or a closely related field.
  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations practices, employment laws, policies, procedures, and multi-state compliance requirements, including Colorado, California, Texas, Washington, and Georgia.
  • Experience managing or supporting leave of absence and accommodation processes, including ADA, FMLA, and applicable state and local leave laws.
  • Experience in multi-state or national organizations preferred; experience supporting expansion into new states is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and apply employment laws and compliance requirements in new jurisdictions as the firm expands.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, managers, and leadership at all levels, exercise sound judgment, work independently, manage multiple matters, and maintain discretion with sensitive information.
