Description

  • Own the full API customer journey and go-to-market, from discovery through purchase, expansion, and retention.
  • Identify gaps in the current API business and systematically fix issues across pipeline, pricing, and expansion motions.
  • Own Data Products revenue and drive 3x growth in 2026 and again in 2027.
  • Lead API Sales, Customer Success Managers, and API marketers directly.
  • Work with Data teams to build and refine custom solutions for customers.
  • Manage larger account processes such as account reviews, escalations, and pricing decisions.
  • Scale the inbound motion and repeat the solution sales approach for Data Products.
  • Set the 12-month strategy for the API business and determine the hires needed to support it.
  • Take ownership of the biggest leverage area as the role evolves over the first 6 months and beyond.

Requirements

  • Experience building a customer journey and go-to-market strategy from scratch or near-scratch.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose business gaps and fix them systematically.
  • People management experience, including helping team members grow and giving direct feedback.
  • Comfort working customer-facing and handling conversations with large accounts.
  • A non-linear or unconventional career path is welcome, including experience founding a company or leading across multiple functions.
  • Technical foundation with comfort using Claude or similar tools, understanding APIs, reading documentation, and explaining how an LLM works.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with data engineers and customers on technical problems.
  • Fast learner who can adapt quickly to ambiguous problems and new areas on demand.
  • Strong customer-first mindset and high standards for customer experience.
  • Experience working closely with product teams and staying deeply informed about customer problems.
  • Ability to lead teams, make hard calls, and support hiring and performance management.
