Description

  • Work across all stages of visual development, from early concept through production and marketing.
  • Hire, lead, and mentor a team of 2D artists.
  • Support the art director in establishing and refining visual styles and style guidelines.
  • Create polished artwork from sketch through final render.
  • Solve creative problems through innovative design that balances form and function.
  • Participate in planning and scoping concept needs for projects.
  • Provide multiple creative options and iterate on designs as projects progress.
  • Collaborate with teammates and incorporate feedback throughout the creative process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of 2D artists.
  • 5+ years of experience in 2D art for video games.
  • Strong art fundamentals, including color, light, composition, anatomy, perspective, and depth.
  • Fluency in Photoshop and understanding of complementary software and tools.
  • Experience with 3D is a strong plus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and processes.
  • Ability to work from creative briefs while considering context, timelines, and constraints.
  • Familiarity with Perforce, Adobe Suite, Unreal Engine, and Atlassian Suite.
  • A portfolio showing initial ideas, sketches, broader concepting, and final rendering quality.

  • Base salary of $132,000-$169,000 in select major metropolitan areas, $115,000-$147,000 in several other metro areas, and $98,000-$125,000 in all other U.S. locations.
