Description

  • Build, coach, and grow a high-performing team of Analytics Engineers and Data Scientists.
  • Establish clear KPIs and operating rhythms that make analytics a strategic partner from the start of initiatives.
  • Own the end-to-end data lifecycle, including ingestion, modeling, governance, and reporting.
  • Guide the team’s work on BigQuery-based medallion architecture and trusted source-of-truth tables.
  • Partner with leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, CS, and Finance to turn questions into analysis and recommendations.
  • Raise standards for pipeline reliability, SQL, dbt, data modeling, experimentation, and statistical rigor.
  • Translate company strategy into clear priorities and help the team adapt to changing business needs.
  • Identify and apply AI use cases that improve team efficiency and enhance the product's data capabilities.
  • Coach senior individual contributors through ambiguous technical and analytical problems.
  • Use Mixpanel’s own tools and data stack to model data-driven practices for the rest of the company.

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in data and analytics in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, ideally across Analytics Engineering and Data Science.
  • Experience leading a centralized data function is a plus.
  • Strong technical fluency across ingestion, pipeline orchestration, SQL, dbt, data warehouse design, Python, statistical modeling, experimentation, forecasting, and AI.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools such as BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran, and Hex.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and embed data into decision-making.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and GTM leaders.
  • Player-coach mentality with comfort in pipeline issues, model reviews, and SQL deep-dives.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Experience with experimentation design, causal inference, and evaluating when advanced methods are warranted.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap, or Pendo.
  • Background in PLG and/or hybrid go-to-market motions is preferred.
  • Openness to public-facing thought leadership through speaking, writing, or best-practice sharing is preferred.
