Description

  • Build and lead a world-class applied research team by hiring and mentoring researchers.
  • Define the research roadmap for the Intelligent Canvas and identify high-impact research opportunities.
  • Model complex user behaviors across multi-user collaboration and multi-format AI generation.
  • Pioneer research using large multimodal and graph-based spatial datasets.
  • Create a framework for rapidly testing and fine-tuning foundation models for domain-specific tasks.
  • Drive the research-to-product process to translate models into user-facing features.
  • Foster scientific rigor while keeping the team focused on shipping product value.
  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to turn AI capabilities into intuitive solutions.
  • Design organizational processes for model governance, evaluation, reproducibility, and ethical AI practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing high-performing Applied Science or ML Engineering teams in a product-led tech company or top-tier research lab.
  • Strong understanding of Transformers, Diffusion models, and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs).
  • Experience guiding teams through fine-tuning and RAG at scale.
  • Ability to prioritize user value and latency constraints over proxy metrics such as F1 and AUC.
  • Comfort with ambiguous, open-ended problems involving collaboration modeling.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders and align research with long-term strategy.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field plus 2+ years of people management experience, or a Master's degree/equivalent deep technical experience plus 5+ years of industry ML experience including 2+ years of people management.
  • Portfolio of research contributions, such as publications in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR, KDD), or impactful technical blog posts (preferred).
  • Familiarity with the modern MLOps stack and experience helping teams build research infrastructure (preferred).
