Description

  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Communicate with patients and cross-functional partners with empathy and professionalism across phone, video, email, Slack, text, and the patient portal.
  • Complete a high volume of prior authorizations.
  • Perform clinical administrative functions within the scope of certification.
  • Follow provider instructions for pharmacy refills, lab result tracking, medical records requests, phone messages, and patient message responses.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and protect patient health information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to remove obstacles and keep tasks moving forward.

Requirements

  • National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) from NHA, AMT, or AAMA is required.
  • Prior experience using the CoverMyMeds system is required.
  • Experience submitting prior authorizations for weight loss medications electronically and over the phone is required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant after externship is required; telehealth or remote work experience is a plus.
  • 2+ years of current ATHENA ONE outpatient EMR experience is required, including use of Athena in 2024 and 2025.
  • 5+ years of overall EMR experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship needs.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
