Description

  • Own feature design and evaluate proposed designs, providing feedback to improve solution quality.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues, optimizing solutions for scalability and efficiency.
  • Design, document, and implement clean, robust solutions to complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, business stakeholders, program managers, and product managers to define and deliver technical solutions.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements and explain technical details in business-friendly terms.
  • Participate in defining scope and estimates for stories and work items.
  • Work closely with peers to help the team achieve its goals.
  • Maintain a high bar for code quality, testing, and automation, while continuously improving them.
  • Lead design and code reviews to ensure the team ships high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Promote a DevOps mindset by supporting cloud-oriented solutions, monitoring, alerting, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Mexican citizen only.
  • 10+ years of professional experience delivering quality software, ideally across the full stack.
  • Strong proficiency in an object-oriented language such as Java.
  • Experience with Java Spring Boot, Docker, and RESTful architecture.
  • Experience with microservices, system design, architecture, scaling, and performance testing.
  • Test automation experience across unit, integration, regression, and load levels.
  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools and pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD and Terraform.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with cache-based low-latency system design.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and testing tools.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with ops tools, logging, and metrics such as New Relic and Splunk.
  • Experience with messaging technologies and patterns such as Kafka and SQS.
  • Organization-level design experience with up/downstream integration and multi-week or multi-month implementation scope.
  • Ability to make technical decisions, influence priorities and tradeoffs, and lead work processes and design reviews.
  • Ability to break down work for junior engineers and adjust team processes to fit project needs.
  • Strong business understanding and the ability to identify potential gaps and future problems.
