Description

  • Define the overall marketing strategy and build the team and marketing engine to support growth goals.
  • Work with Success Engineering to grow the user, developer, and partner communities.
  • Lead hands-on execution of key marketing initiatives while building the team.
  • Articulate Metabase’s unique value proposition to analysts, developers, and teams.
  • Create content, community engagement, and social strategies that drive public conversation and audience growth.
  • Run experimentation across multiple channels and messages to build awareness of Metabase.
  • Build the marketing operations foundation and instill quantitative rigor across the function.
  • Foster creativity and experimentation while measuring performance and informing decision-making.

Requirements

  • Experience building a successful, comprehensive marketing strategy to reach target personas and drive business growth, especially at a scaling startup and in a PLG context.
  • Strong understanding of the current market landscape around open source software and data.
  • Ability to understand and optimize the full marketing funnel using performance measurement and analysis.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, scrappy, fast-moving startup environments.
  • Ability to operate both as a hands-on contributor and as a leader building high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of what resonates with developers and data analysts and how to create authentic messaging and content strategies.
  • Ability to zoom in on details while also understanding the full strategic picture.
  • U.S. applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and complete E-Verify upon hire.
