Description

  • Own the roadmap for Mercury’s API and evolve it from read-heavy usage into a broader platform customers can build on top of.
  • Define the strategy for integrating Mercury with AI tools and developer platforms, including capability exposure and integration prioritization.
  • Lead the product vision for how AI enables customers to ask questions about their finances and take actions within Mercury.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how Mercury’s most technical customers use the API today and what they still need.
  • Partner with engineering on API design, data access, and capability tradeoffs.
  • Work with growth and partnerships teams to position the API and AI products as advantages for acquisition and retention.
  • Navigate a high-velocity environment and help move the product area forward quickly with original thinking.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience.
  • Meaningful experience building API products, developer tools, or AI-powered products.
  • Experience building products that are largely invisible to end users but important to the people who use them.
  • Strong understanding of how to build for developers and technical users.
  • Active interest in AI and hands-on experience building with AI tools, including side projects.
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows and MCP.
  • Ability to make technical product decisions in partnership with engineering.
  • Experience turning a nascent product area with traction into a coherent strategy and roadmap.
  • Comfort working in a culture where leadership is deeply engaged.

Benefits

  • Competitive total rewards package including base salary, equity, and benefits.
  • Equity compensation in the form of stock options and/or RSUs.
  • US base salary range of $239,000 - $298,800.
  • Canadian base salary range of CAD 225,900 - 282,400.
  • Compensation determined by experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity.
